Just stopping by to share some photos of a little of our RV renovation progress...

In fact, this past week, one of our re-upholstery projects was completed.

That's right. It's no big mystery. Our sofa is now completed.

Ray, the owner of Southern Upholstery, did a fantastic job. You can see here what the sofa looked like before he worked his magic. Needless to say, I really love the way he transformed the look of the sofa. By simply removing the arm rests, he gave it a more classic look.

Better yet, the new cushions truly improve the sofa's overall comfort. I'm absolutely delighted!

So why did we choose to redo the upholstery on our RV's existing sofa rather than purchase a new sofa?

Well, it all really boiled down to practicality. You see, the existing sofa converts into a bed, an extremely nice option when and if we are able to persuade our adult son to join us for an adventure.

The existing sofa is also designed to be bolted down to the floor of the RV. Thus, safety and comfort obviously drove our decision-making on this round of renovation decisions.

I chose the navy blue, velour type fabric for the project because it is both comfortable and once again, it's practical.

Dark colors, after all, show less dirt. And since my 90 lb LabraDoodle will accompany us on all our RV travels, I thought it might be a good idea to select a color that would not highlight any shed doggie hair or dirty paw prints.

In addition, the rich navy blue grounds the space since the color white will dominate the rest of the living area. After all, the cabinets, counter and window treatments will predominately be a creamy white. For this reason, I thought I'd punch it up a little with the deep navy blue.

During the early part of this coming week, Ray will complete the new upholstery for our dining bench as well as for our captain's chairs. I'll be back with more pictures once we have those re-installed in "Van Go."

In the meantime, I have been busy painting the landscapes on the RV bedroom door. The door is

two-thirds complete. And so, I hope to be able to share photos of that with you in the very near future.

Yes... you better believe it! I'll be back soon with more renovation progress to share!
